When Friends & Family Joined Ubima-Born Businessman Kings Wali & Siblings As They Bade Mom Goodnight

Ubima town in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State literarily came alive on Saturday 11th November, 2017 when Ubima-born businessman and politician, Kings Wali and his siblings laid his beloved mother, late Mrs. Comfort Ezinne Wali, to rest in grandeur.

The event started with a commendation Service at Saint Barnabas Anglican Church in Igwuruta, officiated by Ven. Promise Igwe, alongside other Ministers, after which the train headed for St. Andrew’s Anglican Church Ubima, where the Bishop of Ikwerre Diocese Bishop Blessing Eyindah officiated the Funeral Service with dignitaries from far and near.

Among the dignitaries who graced the occasion were former Governor of Rivers State, Sir. Celestine Omehia, Sen. Paulker, Group President of Azikel Refinery, Dr. Godbless Eruani, NIMASA’s Director-General, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, Rivers State Commissioner of Education, Hon. Dr. Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja, and his Energy counterpart, Hon. Chinyere Igwe, Prof. Steve Azaiki, Group President Stanel Oil & Gas Limited, Stanley Uzochukwu, CEO, Nadoak Limited, Dr. Kennedy Okonkwo, and a host of other dignitaries

Thereafter, Mama’s remains proceeded for a brief stopped-over at her late husband, Chief Kenneth Wali-Onuah’s compound, after which all roads led to Kings Wali’s house for the Lying in State and interment.

With interment over, guest were treated to a lavish reception with assorted wines and sumptuous meals, while veteran comedian, Okey Bakassi treated guest to a session of unending laughter with his rib-cracking jokes.

Sunday 12th November was set aside for the Thanksgiving Service at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church where friends again gathered with the Walis to thank the Almighty for His mercies and a successful burial event.
